How to Become a Morning Person Immediately (Almost)


We all strive to become “morning people”. We set our alarms an hour earlier with the expectation that we’ll wake up before sunrise and exercise and read the newspaper. We have a restful evening, and then our alarm rings and we...hit snooze seven times.

So, how do you become the seemingly unattainable morning person? It all starts with creating habits. Here are some tips for enhancing your ability to wake up early and conquer your day.

1. Alarm Clock Distance
Set your alarm clock across your bedroom. This will force you to physically get out of bed in order to turn off your alarm. Getting out bed is half the battle.

2. Go to Bed Earlier
This simple solution will allow you to acquire the same amount of sleep that a health body requires. It will translate into easier wake-ups each morning.

3. No Phones Before Bed
Phones produce light; light tricks your brain into thinking that it’s still light outside. This makes it difficult for your body to shut down. Plus, you’re probably doing something useless on your phone anyways and you could use that time to fall asleep quicker.

4. Read Before Sleep
Instead of being distracted on your phone, read a chapter in a book. This naturally relaxes the body while making you more intelligent.

5. Window Blinds Open
Open your blinds before you fall asleep. This will allow natural sunlight to enter your room in the morning, which triggers the body to wake up naturally and easily.

6. Purposeful Mornings
Provide purpose to each morning. Commit to exercising, reading the newspaper, eating a healthy breakfast, or something that motivates you to simply get out of bed.

7. Eat Better
Eating nutritious meals will put the body in sync, which will make it easier to fall asleep. Avoid caffeine at night time, along with sugary foods.

8. Drink Tea Before Bed
Drinking non-caffeinated tea will relax the body and the mind. It provides an alternative to other nighttime drinks that make sleep difficult.

9. Stretch Before Bed
Stretching will relax the body and allow blood to flow where it’s supposed to. Plus, it’ll make you more flexible!

10. Meditate Before Bed
Meditation is difficult to begin, but once the skill is acquired, it has far-reaching effects on your ability to sleep with a clear mind.
