Top 10 Best Adventure Blogs of the Summer
By: Staff Writer
The Adventure Tribune crew reads as many adventure blogs and magazines as possible each day. Through these blogs, we gain inspiration to conduct our own adventures and seek out locations that we otherwise wouldn’t recognize as prime adventure spots.
We decided to rank our Top 10 Best Adventure Blogs of the Summer based on three different categories: content quality, usefulness (to us, specifically), and originality. Thanks to these 10 adventure blogs, we’ve been able to gain advice, inspiration, and encouragement to adventure boldly through the world through the duration of the summer thus far.
In no particular order, here’s our list of this summer’s best:
1. The Planet D
This blog’s ability to pair how-to advice with travel narratives and original photos makes it one of our go-to adventure blogs for international content.
With major focus on Spain and New Zealand, this adventure blog provides us with inspiration to pay attention to the finer points of the cities to which we travel.
3. Modern Hiker
Their extensive database about hiking trails, conditions, and advice makes this one of the more useful blogs for our summer adventures.
This duo provides us with a wide variety of adventure/travel content, from travel gadgets to “How To” guides that break down the minutiae of getting to the next location.
With a well-dispersed combination of “Top 10” lists of sightseeing activities and personal travel narratives, this blog rates in our top ten for both content quality (well-written) and usefulness when traveling to a new city.
Since two of our contributors are based in Denver (and our other contributors travel to Denver often), we look to this blog frequently to gather adventure advice from an established adventure blogger.
We visit this blog frequently for tips regarding hiking, scuba diving, and travel photography. The quality of the content and the beauty of the blog’s design keep us coming back for more.
8. Gnarly Girls
Created by a group based in the Pacific Northwest, this blog provides us with concrete advice on starting new adventure sports. Paired with first-hand narrative, this new blog is already shaking up the industry.
This blog mostly features first-hand accounts of outdoor adventures that inspire us to follow in the adventurer’s footsteps.
With a combination of useful videos and insightful travel narratives, this travel blog gives us inspiration to explore the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
To those who made our list, thank you for producing quality content. Keep it up! If you think we missed a key adventure blog, or you want to make us aware of your adventure blog for our next list, please let us know.
