On a recent adventure into Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, I had the chance to sleep on my new Aeros Pillow Ultralight for the first time. I have to say, the pillow is nothing short of phenomenal.

This pillow is built for backpacking and carry-on-style traveling. It offers adventurers an alternative to a bulky pillow without compromising comfort while sleeping.

The Aeros Pillow Ultralight compacts to 2.5 x 3.5 inches and weighs a mere 2.1 ounces. When it’s fully inflated, it spans 14 x 10 inches and offers a strong support that doesn’t deflate overnight.

Inflating the pillow took a single breathe, with two more to fine-tune the air capacity. Its valves worked seamlessly and held the pillow to an airtight standard. In all, inflating the pillow took about 15 seconds.

Our Experience

To be honest, I was skeptical at first. I thought, “Hmm, a 2.1-ounce pillow that I have to inflate with my own breath is going to take forever to fill up.” My suspicions were incorrect: it literally took one breathe.

Then, I thought, “This pillow is too small and lightweight. It can’t be comfortable.” Again, I was way off. I slept peacefully and even woke up without the usual camping neck stiffness.

Still, I wasn’t totally convinced. When I deflated the pillow, I looked at the tiny pack that it came in and thought, “There’s no way I’ll be able to fit this pillow back in here.”

For a third time, Sea To Summit proved me wrong. In about 25 seconds, I had the pillow rolled up and stuffed into the tiny pouch in which it was originally packed.

Universal Utility

The Aeros Pillow Ultralight design gives adventurers two key features that any adventurer will find valuable: a comfortable pillow and compact, lightweight travel capabilities.

Everyone wants to bring their most comfortable pillow with them on a backpacking journey through their favorite National Park, or while traveling from hostel to hostel in a foreign country. But, no one wants to dedicate that much precious backpack space to a bulky pillow. The Aeros Pillow Ultralight solves that issue.

It compacts itself into a pack that’s smaller than a fist, yet it provides true comfort while sleeping in a new place.
