An Oregon Coast Sunset

Grant Allen/Adventure Tribune

The sunset view from the Oregon Coast is unparalleled. While summer brings sunshine, winter brings a cold, ripping wind - but it also brings clouds that provide incredible sunset colors. The United States' West Coast provides a sunset opportunity that few states have - watching the sun drop below the Pacific Ocean every single night.

Travel to the Oregon Coast during the winter when significantly less tourist visit the picturesque landscape. Bundle up for hikes on the beach and around the rocky, tree-filled landscapes. And, of course, take time to appreciate the unique sunset over the largest ocean in the world.

Grant Allen is a writer and photographer based in Portland, Oregon, where he adventures through the Pacific Northwest rain regularly. Allen, an Eagle Scout, uses his adventure training to capture stunning photography and detailed descriptions of his explorations.
